Civil Conduct

Civil conduct documents a fictional world where busy Sydney has become abandoned, leaving an anonymous figure free to move about and use the environment as it pleases.
The body moves through, over and around the urban space, responding to the obstacles of the built environment by turning them into opportunities for creativity. The project focuses on obscuring the defining physical features of the individual to emphasise their movements and the distinctive features of the environment through which they move. The performance is a questioning of perceptions of identity and social constructs of resistance and normality.

This short film was made as a Compositional Project for Carl’s third year of his Media Arts degree at UNSW Art and Design.

Hey, I am Shyam Deolalikar Online editor at Urban freeflow and one of your UFTV curators. I love watching parkour videos! I have been involved with the Parkour/ Freerunning community since June 2011. Parkour has allowed me to appreciate athletics and movement arts in different ways over the years, leading to me changing up my activities ever so often. Currently transitioning from being a power-lifter/strongman competitor for a year, back to Parkour/Freerunning at the moment. If you wish, follow my progression in my weightloss and parkour on Instagram @falcorr.
